Norman L. Haldeman, of Bucyrus passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 in Upper Sandusky with family by his side. Norm was born January 17, 1935 in Bucyrus to the late Lowell and Alice (Snavely) Haldeman. He was married August 10, 1952 to Elizabeth "Betty" (Wurm) Haldeman who survives. They just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. They were always the last couple standing for the Anniversary dance at their grandchildren's weddings. A fete they were so proud of. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Gary Michael, one brother Patrick, and one sister Shari Pettit Morrison.

Norm is also survived by children Chris (Karen) Haldeman; Cindy (Bill) Kuhn; Randy (Debbie) Haldeman; Cathy Haldeman (Doug Reardon); Greg Haldeman. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Melissa Haldeman, C.J. Haldeman, Chad, Billy, Andrew, and Doug Kuhn, Gary and Tyler Haldeman, Amanda Saucedo, Jaedyn and CiCi Harris and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Norm graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1952, married his high school sweetheart, then joined the U.S. Navy. He went on to graduate from Tiffin University. Norm belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church and The American Legion Post 181. Norm was also a board member of the Bucyrus Historical Society. He established the Heckert Trust Fund which is part of The Community Foundation for Crawford County.

Norm and Betty would take their many antiques and set up at the Scott show in Columbus and the Springfield Antique show, where he made many friends and found many great buys. He loved antiques and surrounded his life with the history of our nation. There was always a garage sale he couldn't pass up. His most treasured collection was out back in his barn. You were a lucky one if you were invited in. He also loved the wildlife surrounding his yard. Always planting something for the benefit of his outdoor friends. Our dad never knew a stranger, always taking the time to let you know he was your friend. He would always welcome anyone into his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Paul Fahrbach as Celebrant and burial to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 5:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Lowe-Volk Nature Center through the funeral home.
