Mrs. Mary Lee Hunter Kirkland, 81, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home. All services will be private.

Mrs. Kirkland was born May 11, 1940 in Lando, SC and was the daughter of the late Luther Eugene Hunter, Sr. and Rebecca Grace Moore Hunter. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries having worked at both the Katherine and the Eureka plants. She also worked for Aragon in Rock Hill, SC. When she was able she attended Lando Baptist Church. Mary loved her grandchildren and her family. She enjoyed home cooked meals, game show network and playing games.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Enix and Wanda Patrick (Roger) both of Chester, SC; seven grandchildren, Crystal Stewart, Johnny Patrick, Tabitha Whitaker, Andrew Patrick, Leroy Patrick, Alicia Patrick and Stephen Patrick; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one brother, Jesse Vernon Hunter of Chester, SC; one sister, Betty Hunter Wallace of Camden, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son John Robert "Slugger" Kirkland, Jr.; grandson, Corey Ray Enix; two sisters; three brothers and her son-in-law Donnie Enix.
