Anna Borngesser

Anna M. (Apley) Borngesser passed away at home, surrounded by many loved ones, after a brief illness, on August 24, 2021.

Anna was a strong and independent woman. Her family was most important to her. She loved all of them unconditionally and never failed to be there when she was needed. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife. Anna will leave a void in the lives of all who loved her.

Anna was a stay-at-home mother until her children were grown. She then joined the family garage door business at EZ-Lift and later worked for Interstate Door. Her weekly getaway while raising her children was a bowling league, which she enjoyed with friends. In later years, she could be found on the golf courses in Michigan and Florida, with friends and her husband, Bob. Anna enjoyed weekends at the lake, with cottages on Black and Burt Lakes. Upon retirement, she spent her winters in Florida, enjoying Naples, The Villages, and spending time with her daughter in Crystal River.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; brother, Les (Kay) Apley; children, Doug (Karen) Hempenstall, Diane (Wayne) Tebo, Sue (Jeff) Vivian, Rich (Stephanie) Borngesser, and Rob (Louise) Borngesser. Anna was also blessed with twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Anna was preceded in death by her brother, Sidney Apley; grandson, Joe Tebo; and parents William and Martha Apley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McLaren Cheboygan Hospice online at https://www.mclaren.org/northern-michigan-foundation/home-care-and-hospice-foundation.

Funeral services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord.

Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon at BJ's Restaurant in Gaylord, following the burial.

Arrangements were entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
