Betty Grace Rushing Hunt was born on November 19, 1936 in Sherburn, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in Deer Park, Texas, at the age of 84. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Zelma Linthicum and step-dad, Fred; her husband of 68 years, Herman Clyde Hunt; two grandsons, Bobby Wayne Hill and Jordan Gates. Betty is survived by her children, Brenda Bishop and husband, Larry; Richard Hunt and wife, Debbie; Don Hunt and wife, Teresa; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 bothers and 1 sister. Betty was a fulltime housewife and mother. She loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She would call and tell everyone that she was cooking and everyone would change plans just to get to eat at Mawmaw's (Betty's nickname). Everyone loved her fried chicken strips and chocolate cake. She will be greatly missed by all her family. Betty had a passion for gardening. Her yard was always one of the prettiest on the block with all the flowers and a yard that got mowed every 2-3 days while in good health. Betty made a profession of faith in her early years. Attending church for worship was always a priority for both Herman and Betty. She especially loved her Sunday School class. Her life exhibited Christ's love.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. at First Baptist Pasadena in the Chapel at 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:30 pm with Dr. Jon Redmond officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505
