HUMPHREY, George William "Pete"

Ocala, Pete Humphrey, 91, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on August 26, 2021. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee to parents, Harley and Mamie.

Pete was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country during World War II. After being discharged, he married the love of his life, Jane. In 1949 they moved to Miami, Florida to start a family. He was employed 40 years for a large power company and taught the Electrical Apprenticeship Program. Pete retired in 1990 and moved to Ocala to be near his daughters and grandkids.

Pete was a quiet, kind and down-to-earth guy who loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Survived by: Daughters; Terry, Tammy, Peggy; Grandsons; Kyle, Garrett (Krista); Great Grandsons, Greyson and Garrison; Brother, Jimmie.

Preceded in death by: his beloved wife of 70 years, Jane; Parents; Harley and Mamie.

A private graveside service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Marion County.
