Funeral will be held for Lovett

Interment will be in City Cemetery

Funeral services for J. A. Lovett, widely known resident of Jackson county, aged [73], were to be held from the Baptist church at Friendship at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, The Reverend D. A. Rogers, pastor of the church was to officiate. Burial was to be in the City cemetery of Altus with the Goodman funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Lovett died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bennie Childress whom he was visiting in Lawton early Monday morning. Lovett died without warning while talking in a chair. He was said to have been in good health prior to his death. The body was sent here Monday night.

Lovett is survived by a [son] [Joe] Lovett, eight miles northeast of Altus with whom he had made his home for the last few years and a daughter, Mrs. L. [I?] M. Whitmore northeast of here and three other daughters.

Joseph's sister Sarah Jane 'Jinnie' Lovett Morrison is buried at Altus also.
