Born in Torrington, Wyoming, he is preceded in death by parents, Fred and Opal Blair, Whites Creek, TN., brother, Wesley Blair, Winchester, TN.
He is survived by siblings, Cyrus (Doris) Blair, Punta Gorda FL., Mary (Alton) Elder, Joelton, TN., Boyd (Teresa) Blair, Whites Creek, TN., RuthAnn (Paul) Crutchfield, Nashville, TN.
John is survived by wife, Juanita Mills Blair, daughters, Tambra (Carey) Fore of Lascassas, TN.,
Samantha (Ken) Blair-Nelson, Lebanon, TN., and son, Brian (Beth) Blair, Mt. Juliet, TN., and beloved Papa to 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
John graduated from Cheatham County Central High School, Ashland City, TN. in May of 1956.
On December 26, 1959 he married his wife and lifelong soulmate of 61 yrs., Juanita Ann Mills.
His work career started as an Assembly Line Worker with AVCO, 1959-1962, an Industrial Mechanic with Keith-Sinclair, 1962-1972, then Apartment Maintenance from 1972-1981 with First Management Services and Lincoln Properties.
He started his own business, Mid-South Mechanical from 1982-1997. During those years he taught his son, nephews and a score of young men his trade, which led them to various, successful career paths. 1997-2017
he drove a Long Haul Semi across the USA for Falcon, Bennett and Hook-up. He retired to Brush Creek, TN at age 78.
John's legacy of a devoted husband, loyal father, true friend, master storyteller, and all time hero, who could fix most anything will live on in the hearts of those who love and respect him.
There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service, July 3rd., 2021 at 3pm with visitation following.
