Kathy Jean Baker was born on January 15, 1962, to Jessie Jr and Minnie Lee Floyd, in Longview, Texas. At an early age she accepted Christ and she was a member of Greater Mt Gideon Baptist Church. She attended Longview Public Schools and was a graduate of Kilgore College with a degree in Business Management. As a young adult, she worked for Longview Independent School District. Kathy was a store manager of One Price Clothing from 1992-2004. Kathy had a gift of fashion, style, and an eye for interior design. Kathy currently served as the Business Manager of Wrecking Crew Volleyball Club.
In 1977, Kathy met Warzell Baker and they were married for 20 years with four children. Kathy dedicated her life to raising her children. She dedicated time and energy towards instilling values and life lessons into them. She embraced every moment with her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved her role as "Granny". She had a warm personality, contiguous laugh, and with her infectious smile she never met a stranger.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Jr and Minne Lee Floyd, four siblings James Montgomery, Glenda Fay Guthrie, Easter May Floyd, and Patricia Ann Banks.
