Phillip Steven Allen
September 29, 1941 ~ August 30, 2021 (age 79)

Phillip Steven Allen, 79, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 30, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Phillip was born on September 29, 1941 in Rowan County to the late Bruce Allen and Margaret Benfield Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Allen and Michael Allen, and two sisters, Gail Duganne, and Janice Lamarche.

Phillip worked for Pillowtex for over 45 years. He loved softball and liked to umpire. He also enjoyed mowing grass. He was a kind and generous man who never met a stranger and would give someone the shirt off of his back. He was a long-time member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. He will be fondly remembered for being the candy man at church and liked to give out mints. Most of all, he dearly loved and cherished spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann Allen; three daughters, Leigh Ann Allen, Amy Allen Ritchie, Beth (Jayme) Allen Dwinell; four grandchildren, Colby Reid, Amanda (David) Beam, Karlyn Dwinell, Brennen Dwinell; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Reid and Caliyah Reid; two brothers, Jerry Allen and Herman Allen, and two sisters, Glenola Peoples and Patricia Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Bethpage Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow and begin at 2:00 p.m. at Bethpage Presbyterian Church with Elder Ed Kusper officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank his loving church family at Bethpage Presbyterian, the kind staff at Coltrane Life Center in Concord, and the caring staff of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the aforementioned organizations.
