He is a native and life resident of Madera where he attended local schools. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Bataan in the U.S. Navy. Michael was honorably discharged and returned to his home in Madera. He was a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 1981 in Madera and had served in his younger years as the Post Commander. He retired from the Madera County Road Dept. as a District Road Supervisor after 31 years of service.
Michael is preceded by his parents, oldest brother Vincent and youngest brother Richard Zamora.
Married for just short of 70 years this December to his childhood sweetheart Grace De Luna Zamora. He is also survived by his four children: Rebecca R. Garcia, Arthur A. Zamora, Sr., Roxane M. Ferretti, William Zamora and their spouses. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great grandson, His siblings Tillie Garcia, Rose McNulty, Dan Zamora along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Jay Chapel.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 1:00 pm at St. Joachim Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:30 pm.
A Committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by V.F.W. Post 1981.
