William Frank Moody, age 94, of Crossroads Community, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. Mr. Frank was born August 7, 1926, in George County. He was devoted to his family. His children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye. His other loves included visiting with family and friends, hunting, fishing and working with his bees. He was well known for his honey. A WWII Army veteran and a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, he retired over 30 years ago from Ingalls Shipyard where he worked as Burner Foreman. He is survived by his 2 sons, Doyle (Susan) Moody and Rickey Moody, both of Lucedale; 2 daughters, Charlotte (David) Conner, Lucedale and Frankie (Sa'id) Samman, Mobile, AL; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Kirkland, McHenry, MS, Stephen (Pola) Moody, Brisbane, Queenland, Australia, Stacey (Becky) Moody, Perkinston, MS, Jason (Michelle) Conner, Fairhope, AL, Jeremy Conner, Lucedale, Dr. Jeana Conner (Adam) Mason, Lucedale, Melissa Moody, Colonial Beach, VA, Hannah (Kyle) Cline, Wichita Falls, TX, and Sahar Samman, New Albany, Ohio; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by her wife of 75 years, Betty Jean Woodard Moody; son, William Larry Moody; daughter-in-law, Virginia Moody; grandson, Josh Samman; parents, Bud and Lucy Moody; 2 brothers, James T. "Peanut" Moody and Dalton "Dunk" Moody and 3 sisters, Minnie Bell Moody, Frances Woodard, Virginia "Tootsie" Cornelson. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021, from 6 to 9 PM at the Crossroads United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be officiated by Rev. Eddie Davidson and Rev. David Collette will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 16, at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Crossroads United Methodist Church Cemetery. George County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
