Peggy Irene (Lyon) King was born July 1, 1932 at home in Dallas, Texas.
She passed away August 30, 2021 peacefully at home in Cave City, Arkansas.
She was the daughter of James Taylor Lyon and Minnie D. (Carpenter) Lyon. She was a homemaker and briefly worked at the Cave City Nursing Home in laundry. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Country Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Jim King (Judy) of Maryland and John King of Pacific, Missouri; five daughters, Connie Staton (Ken Powell) of Batesville, Arkansas, Jackie Goforth (Danny) of Austin, Arkansas, Lou Allen (Leonard) of Cave City, Arkansas, Cindy King also of Cave City, and Ruby Spain of Claremore, Oklahoma; one sister, Bobbie Ann Nowlin of Dallas, Texas, and her other sister, Janetta McClour of Cave City, Arkansas; 22 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61½ years, Jack O. King; a daughter, Kathy Nell King; three grandsons; two granddaughters, four brothers, four sisters, two daughters-in-law, and one son-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Brown, Justin Cross, Zach King, Alan King, Greg Spain, Joey Staton, Adam King, Glen King, and Tracy Goforth. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren, nephews, and friends.
There will not be any visitation. A graveside service will be held at Eutopia Cemetery in Cave City at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 with Hunter Bolton officiating.
Arrangements are by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Peggy King was loved by many family and friends and will never be forgotten.
