Mrs. V. C. Burton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Hollingsworth, Lafayette, Monday, of heart trouble. She was the widow of Van S. Burton who, for many years, was owner of a general store in Dayton and was the leader of the old Dayton band. She was a daughter of Dr. D. H. Crouse and was about eighty years of age.
