Sharon was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. She rode horses from the age of three until 2003. Sharon enjoyed showing, parades and was a member of the Mid-Iowa Flag Bearers. She was also a member of Palestine Lutheran Church, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Des Moines.
Sharon passed away at 72 years of age on January 5, 2017 at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Charles Bowers of Huxley; her son, Randall (Monica) Bowers of Slater; four grandchildren, Kory, Shelbi, Rylie and Jese; her siblings, Dorothy Longnecker of Ankeny, Mary Jane Willocks of Jefferson City, Tenn. and Paul (Kathy) Klonglan of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kevin Bowers; her brother, Donald Klonglan; her brothers-in-law, Don Willocks and Raymond Longnecker; and her daughter-in-law, Rose Bowers.
