D.T. was born on May 18, 1940 in Bronson, Texas to Luther Welch and Dusty Irene Wright Welch.
A lifelong resident of Sabine County, D.T. grew up in the Sandy Creek Community. He lived his entire life in and around Bronson. His passion and dedication in life was to love the Lord, his family and his community. He was a simple man who believed in working hard and providing for his family and helping anyone in need. D.T. Loved music and spending time in the outdoors. His favorite music, besides heart felt gospel, was that made by a pack hounds on a fresh scent. Deeply committed to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nothing could put a smile on his face faster than seeing them.
D.T. is survived by his sons, David Welch and wife, Sharon of Hawaii, Barry Welch and wife, Marcie of the Rosevine Community and John Welch and wife, Lindsey of San Augustine, Texas, his daughter, Connie Wars and husband, Keith of Nacogdoches, Texas, his brother, Albert Welch and wife, Donna of Pineland, Texas, grandchildren, Hannah, Briannah, Dustin, Addeline, Olivia, Davis, Natalie, Mary, Sam, Brady, Ryan and Ashleigh; and great grandchildren, Copper and Finley Chapman.
A graveside service will begin at 10am on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in Centerview Cemetery in Pineland, Texas with Reverend Blackman officiating. Serving as pallbearers are George Welch, Tommy Welch, Brady Welch, Colton Brown, Dustin Welch and Malcom Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Dillon Brown, Ryan Wars and Sam Welch.
