JAMES "KUGGIE" COLBERT

James "Kuggie" Colbert Jr., age 70, died Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
He was born on Friday, July 13, 1951 to James Sr. and Mary Lou Winship Colbert in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Kuggie was a very hard working person that loved his family and friends. He was also a big-hearted man that got satisfaction in helping others in their time of hardship and did not look for anything in return. Kuggie loved to laugh and joke with his friends, he had a way of making them feel special when they were in his presence.
Kug was a big OU Fan and loved to watch OU Football. After graduating from Broken Bow High School, he received a football scholarship to play at Kansas State University. He was really proud to have had an opprotunity to play college football. Kuggie was a loving brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Kuggie was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hildia Colbert and two nephews, Charlie Colbert and Kalen Colbert.
He is survived by two sisters, Judy Guthrie of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Catherine Mendoza and husband, Francisco of Krebs, Oklahoma; two nephews, James and wife, Rebecca Colbert of Broken Bow and Chuck Guthrie of Broken Bow; one niece, Ashley Cusher of Broken Bow; great nieces and nephews, Kayleigh Colbert and Michael Colbert both of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Cavan Cea, Cadence Cusher and Harrison Cusher all of Smithville, Oklahoma; special nephew, Ronnie Cusher of Smithville, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Bethel Hill Cemetery in Bethel, Oklahoma with Reverend Edgel Samuel and Pastor Kim McKinney officiating.
A wake service will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. No visitation is planned. Masks recommended.
Pallbearers will consist of a host of caring friends and relatives.
