He was born February 27, 1953 in Lancaster, a son of the late Chalmers George Blackmon and Louise Catoe Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon enjoyed the outdoors. In earlier years the family farmed and raised horses and cattle. He identified with a western lifestyle and was affectionately called Cowboy by his friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Blackmon will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral home with Mr. Michael Dennis officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Blackmon is survived by a daughter, Deana Black of Batesburg; two brothers, Alton Blackmon (Diane) of Lancaster and Allen Blackmon both of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Jeremy Black and Meredith Black.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blackmon was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Blackmon.
