Laura Mae Evans
Dec. 10, 1915 - Aug. 24, 2021

Laura passed at 8:45 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at 105 years 9 months. She was fortunate to be mobile and alert for all but the last few days of her life.

Laura not only lived long, she lived well. She was adventurous, traveling with her sister-in-law in the 70s for a three month trip to Europe, at a time when women seldom traveled alone. She took up golf in her mid-thirties for exercise and once won her club championship. She was curious. In mid-life she decided to take classes at Portland State in geography and history. She was a lifelong bridge player.

Above all, she was a good and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her son, Fred Evans and his wife, Natalie; and her grandson, Alfred Evans and his wife, Christine.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at River View Cemetery.
