Married Carol Jean Bull on 15 April 1951 in Norfolk, VA. He was 41 and she was a 21 year old waitress. She filed for divorce claiming bigamy and that the marriage lasted only 1 day ; they separated the same day that they married. Oscar did not contest the divorce and it was granted in Virginia on 16 September 1952. Children are listed as none.
Married Patricia Ellen Morris. When she applied for her Social Security number in October 1952, she is listed as Patricia Morris; she changed her name to Hammond in May 1955 and to Joslin in March 1962. They had at least one known son, born 1955.
Married Betty Coops; they were divorced by May 1961, when she remarried. They had at least one known son.

Enlisted 22 September 1942 in Baltimore, MD. Arrived in New York from Spain, Trinidad & Cuba on 24 June 1943 aboard the U.S.S. William Grayson. In April 1951 he was an ET2 assigned to the USS New Jersey, Pier 7, Norfolk, Virginia.

Hartland – Oscar C. Hammond, 61, died June 7 at the Veterans Hospital at Togus after a long illness.
He was born at South Hanover, Mass., Feb. 26, 1910. The son of Herbert and Estella (Freeman) Hammond.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years and he had been a security guard at the University of Maine at Orono.
Survivors include his widow Marjorie Bassett Hammond of Pasadena, Calif.; his mother, now of Roxbury, Mass.; one daughter, Marjie May Hammond and two sons, Bradley and Paul, all of Pasadena; one brother, Arthur of Roxbury.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Hartland, with the Rev. Franklin Ouellette officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hartland chapel Wednesday 2-4 and 7-8 pm.
