Geraldine Joyce "Granny" Robinson, age 91, passed away from natural causes on Friday, August 27, 2021, at her home in Great Falls surrounded by loved ones.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Heritage Baptist Church, 900 52nd St N, with her preacher, Dr. S.C. Schearer officiating followed by burial at Highland Cemetery.

Granny was expertly skilled at handcrafts like crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, and even upholstery. She was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church whose generosity was known by every kid she gave a handcrafted gift to each year. Although she never learned to ride a bike or swim, she fully participated in the "girls" trips all over the country. She loved camping, junkin,' and spending time with family. She was a devoted military wife, mother, and Granny to all.

Granny was born to Claude and Lorena Collins in Lynch, Nebraska on October 30, 1929. She was one of eight children and grew up in Lynch and Butte, Nebraska and taught in a one room schoolhouse. She met the love of her life, Robbie (CMSgt, L.C. Robinson) and they eloped after a mere three weeks of acquaintance. When Robbie called her father, the Sheriff, to tell him that he'd married his daughter, the sheriff inquired "which one?" They enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Sadly, Robbie preceded her in death in 2002.

Robbie and Joyce were blessed with 7 children, Kim (Lance) Shannon, Kip Robinson, Kit (Carla) Robinson, Ken Robinson, Kia (Scott) Birkenbuel, Kae (Mike) Severson, and Kal (Bonnie) Robinson. There are 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who enjoyed their love and guidance.

She joins in heaven her son, Ken "Pogy," son-in-law, Lance Shannon, grandson, Heath Shannon, and great-grandson, Noah James.

Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1969, Robbie and Joyce settled in Great Falls, Montana. Granny was employed at the Park Place Nursing Home for 20 years. Even after putting in a full night's shift at the nursing home. Granny was always there to see to her family's needs with the same TLC she shared with her patients. Granny had an inquisitive mind and kept sharp with many crossword puzzles. There wasn't a task she wouldn't attempt to do herself with a plucky pioneer spirit and a sense of humor to go along with it. She was a woman of both grit and grace who shared her unwavering faith in the Lord as a living example to all who loved her. Kneeling in prayer at her bedside was a common sight all her life well past her 90th year. Her guidance and patience will be missed, but her sound advice of "I think you know what the right thing to do is…" will be carried in our hearts forever.
