Rodney (Rod) Allen Jensen, 67, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.

Rod was born in Canton, South Dakota on June 14, 1954 to parents, Dorothy (Helder) Jensen and Erland Jensen.

Rod was a loved husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, and a local business owner.

He graduated from West Lyon Community School and attended Augustana College in South Dakota from 1972 to 1976.

Rod served 25 years in the US Air Force with the 59th Medical Wing at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. In 1999, he served a tour in Kunsan, South Korea. After his tour, he returned to San Antonio and was stationed at Brooks Air Force Base Aerospace Medical Clinic until his retirement from service.

In 1983, Rod joined Bexar County Fire Corps Company 4 as a volunteer and rose to the rank of Captain and President. He loved all aspects of fire fighting but he saw the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. Thus began San Antonio CPR and Rod Jensen & Associates teaching life-saving skills from 1983 to present. Rod taught his classes with humor to ease student learning and confidence in giving CPR and First Aid. He has certified about a million students throughout his life with great success and passion. Rod was an EMT/Medical Technician, American Heart Association Faculty Training Center, EMS Training Instructor, ACLS, AED, NIMS, First Responder and military experience.

He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Spurs fan. Loved outdoor camping in his travel trailer, visiting family and friends in Inwood, Iowa and vacationing in Oahu, Hawaii.

Rod is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Dorothy Jensen, Erland Jensen, and his step-father, Lyle Jensen; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Nettie (Knox) Helder; paternal grandparents, Ole and Eline (Sveen) Jensen.

Rest in peace, sir.
