Deborah Jean Cooper was born in Poteau, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1949 to Cleo and Dorothy (Roman) Cooper, joining her big brother and sister Richard Cooper and Karen (Cooper) Ray. She passed away on August 21st in Henderson, Texas. Debbie graduated from Oklahoma University with a journalism degree and spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma City and Dallas working in the printing industry. She was a passionate football fan and cheering on her Sooners and the Cowboys was a favorite pastime along with reading. Debbie was also a loving daughter and sister and a really incredible aunt to her nieces and nephew. Spending time with her friends and family especially her great nephews and great nieces was important to her. Preceding her in death are her parents, Cleo and Dorothy, her brother, Richard Cooper and her sister-in-law, Sharon (Wooten) Cooper.
She is survived by her sister, Karen (Cooper) Ray and husband Calvin Ray of Shady Point, Oklahoma, nephew Kevin Ray of New York City, nieces Kim (Ray) Smith and her husband Ronnie Smith of Mapleton, Iowa, Sharon (Cooper) Shaffer of Santiago, Chile, Kelly (Ray) Fletcher and her husband David Fletcher of San Antonio, Texas, great nephews Taylor Smith and Cait Baggoe of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Reed and Casey Smith of Ankeny, Iowa, Drew McCulley of San Antonio, Texas, Graham Smith of Audubon, Iowa, Paige McCulley of San Antonio, Texas and many other close friends.
