Richard Howard Baxter, III, of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on August 15th. Richie was born in New Orleans, LA on May 10, 1971, and grew up in Clinton, MS. He is survived by his wife Mary Lib; his son Haas; his daughter Caroline; his mother Marjorie Carol ("Bunny") Baxter; his brother Trey; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Howard Baxter, Jr.
To say Richie was a loving father, husband, and son, is an understatement. He considered being a father as his greatest accomplishment. He was always there for his children and taught them to enjoy every moment life has to offer. He took joy in taking the kids to and from school each day and loved being the last person they saw every morning and the first person they saw every afternoon. His love for them was immeasurable and he was completely devoted his family. Likewise, he was a loyal and caring son to his mother and father.
Richie was an avid fisherman and enjoyed regaling his children with tales and dreams of being on a boat off-shore, seeing all the stars, sleeping on bean bags, eating Vienna sausages, and watching marlin dance on top of the water.
A time of gathering for funeral services has been set for Thursday, August 19, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. James Episcopal Church, located in Fairhope at 860 North Section St., Fairhope, AL. Graveside services immediately following at Memorial Gardens, 19250 South Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL.
Flowers can be sent to Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catch a Dream Foundation, (662) 324-5700, which provides outdoor adventures for children with illnesses.
