Helen Jean Holmes, age 75, of Delaware, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at her home. Member of Lewis Center Free Will Baptist Church and frequently attended Victory Free Will Baptist Church.
Born November 20, 1945 in Columbus to the late Kenneth W. and Betty J. (Leo) Dolan. Jean was a devout Christian and very faithful. She had memorized many scriptures. Jean relished her roles as wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed arts and crafts and participating in puppet shows at church. Mostly, Jean was proud of her family, especially her late grandson, Brett.
In addition to her parents and grandson, Jean was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harry J. Holmes.
Jean is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Tracy Holmes of Sebring, FL; twin grandsons, Jesse and Cody Quick both of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Abbii and Ean Holmes of Raleigh, NC; sister, Linda Kinnaman and brother, Paul Dolan both of Delaware.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3), Sunbury, where the family will be receiving friends from 2 PM until time of service. Pastor Tony Walker officiating. Interment to follow at Marengo Cemetery.
