Robert "Bob" Eugene Currier, 85, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, KS. Bob had been a resident of the Lodge since 2013.
Bob was born on November 19, 1935 in Dodge City, Kansas to Howard and Helen (McCauley) Currier and spent some time in the Dodge City and Coffeyville, Kansas areas at a young age. He graduated from Coldwater High School in 1953.
Bob was in the US Army from August 1958 to June 1960. He served most of that time in Berlin, Germany.
Bob was a lifetime resident and farmer/rancher in the Coldwater/Wilmore area. Bob also served many in the community with his custom swathing and baling business.
Bob married Edna (Miller) Shaw on December 6, 1969 and welcomed her four sons (David Shaw, Darrell Shaw, Paul Shaw and Danny Shaw) into the family. Bob and Edna welcomed a daughter, Patty, on December 20, 1974.
Bob was a person many should aspire to be like. He was respected by all of the community and always willing to help out a neighbor in need.
Bob was proceeded in death by his grandparents: Lloyd and Bertha (Chamberlain) Currier, Clarence and Martha (Hyatt) McCauley, Mother - Helen (McCauley) Currier Deewall and Father - Howard Currier, Wife - Edna (Miller) Shaw Currier and one son Patrick Robert Currier.
Bob is survived by all of his children, four step sons and one daughter. Bob is also survived by four half-siblings, Elizabeth (Deewall) Smith of Alva, Oklahoma, and Lynn (Currier) Mack, Susan (Currier) Guillory and Duane Currier all residing in New Mexico.
A memorial for Bob will be held at a later date and will be announced by Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to: Pioneer Lodge; Comanche County Hospital; and/or the Chief Theater in care of the Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, PO Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029
