Joseph Edward Hughes (86), left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on August 24, 2021. He was ordained as a Christian minister and preached for 54 years at various churches before retiring from Chicago Avenue Church of Christ in 2009. After retiring, he placed his membership at Cherry Creek Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and then elder. He was the Treasurer and Past President of the Franklinton Ministerial Association, Columbus, Ohio; and was a member of the West Park Kiwanis, Cleveland, Ohio.
Ed was born on June 19, 1935, to the late Joseph P. and Anne Sanders Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents and his late wife Kathy Leppert Hughes. He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, sons-in-law, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren,
5 stepchildren, 14 step grandchildren, beloved cousins, and close friend Reed.
