Richard F. (Dick) Griffin passed into his Lord's arms on Friday, August 27th at the age of 93. Dick was born on June 21, 1928 to Louise Hackendale and Edwin Griffin in Syracuse, New York. A life-long area resident, Richard swept Mary Callaghan off her feet and settled in Jamesville, NY, where they raised their children in the "House That Dick Built."
After owning and operating several trucking companies, Dick retired from the road and was a bus driver for the Jamesville-Dewitt school district for many years.
Throughout his life, Dick enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandsons and was also an avid classic car enthusiast.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Sweet Mary. Dick leaves behind to cherish his memory 12 children, including Richard (Jeanne), James (Trica), Alice (Gary) Bell, Nancy (David) Thompson, Daniel, Joseph (Linda), Sharon (Ray) Moade, Robert (Kathleen), Annie (Andy) Agrasto, Kenny (Lori), Christie (Rob) Thompson, and Mary (Diem) Nguyen; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
