Antonio "Toño/Tony" Barrera Gomez passed away surrounded by his family on July 15, 2019 in Chicago, IL after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tony was born on August 30, 1959 in Leon GTO, Mexico to Estella Gomez and Antonio Barrera Hernandez. He came to the United States at the age of 18 and settled in Torrington, Wyoming, where he lived and thrived.

Tony is survived by his wife Betty Garcia Gonzalez, his three children Erik Barrera, Hugo Barrera, and Laura Barrera and four grandchildren Jasmine, Danny, Anaya, and Emilia. Tony is also survived by his mother, three brothers, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a tireless and hardworking man who loved to fix his cars and his house. He enjoyed listening to music and absolutely loved to dance with his family. Tony was happiest when he was on the open roads of Wyoming, he just loved to drive. He was very proud of his children, all of whom are serving in the military, and bragged to everyone that he was a lucky man to be their father. If we could pick one word to describe Tony, it is "cariñoso". He will be very much missed and always in our hearts. "Vamonos!"

Visitation Sunday July 21st 2019 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 12:15pm at the Maher Funeral Home 17101 71st Ave, Tinley Park ( (1 block east of Harlem on 171st St located in the Olde Tinley Library). Interment private.--Maher Funeral Services
