Born in Honea Path, SC, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Orr Ragsdale and Grace Louise Mitchell. Orphaned at an early age,she was raised by her grandmother, Emma Kay Mitchell, in Anderson County. Jean Jackson was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served her Lord as a Sunday School teacher for 56 years. She also worked as the church's secretary for over 20 years. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to her family and a treasured friend to all who knew her.
Preceding her in death was her grandson Ryan Jackson Pitts, and her two siblings Floyd Evans Ragsdale, and Dorothy Ragsdale Cox.
