Mrs. Betty Jewel Turner, age 83, of Indian Mound, TN, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at her home. She was born June 21, 1938 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of the late Dewey and Naomi Grizzard Burkhart.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Eugene Turner, daughters, Brenda Jean Smith and Rita Hammonds, siblings, James Hugh Burkhart, Ora Lee Bradford, Florence May Shepherd, and Janie Travis.
She is survived by her loving sons, Larry Turner (Brenda), Mickey Turner (Connie), Marty Turner (Sandy), and Jeff Turner, grandchildren, Scott Smith (Lori), Josh Turner (April), Rebecca Summers (Chris), Rachel Mullin (Danny), Wesley Turner (Michelle), Shannon Smith (Tim), Billy Lacey (Mallorie), and Kasey Hammonds, six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, brothers, Leon Burkhart and Donnie Burkhart, and sisters, Wanda Coleman and Carolyn Threatt.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 with Bro. Steve Littleton officiating. Burial will be in the Dunbar Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
