George Edward Foster, age 69, of Madisonville, entered into his eternal rest at 9:13 a.m. Monday May 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Born November 19, 1951 in Harlan,Kentucky, he was the son of the late George Foster and Oddie Bell Brown. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville where he served faithfully as president of the Usher Board, as a Deacon, and member of the Male Choir. He retired from the City of Madisonville after 35 years of employment, served as head cook at Ms. Robbie's Day Center in Madisonville where he was known as Uncle George, and attended historic African-American Rosenwald High School in Madisonville. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend , who loved his children, grandchildren and family dearly. He was a devoted church member, and had a love for cooking and University of Kentucky basketball. He also was preceded in death by sisters Oddie Mae Woods and Louise Foster; and brothers Curtis Brown and Lonzo Huff. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories four daughters Aretha Copeland, Corinna Dulin, LaDawn Arnett all of Madisonville and Lorretha (Earl) Leonard of Louisville; three sons Jason Henderson and Harvey Henderson both of Madisonville, and Ray Brown of Owensboro; two sisters Doris East of Hunstsville,Alabama and Eva Ruth (Coleman) Willis of Madisonville; two brothers Roy Foster and James Foster both of Madisonville; his longtime companion Cozette Lovan of Madisonville; 22 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His life will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon Saturday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Robert L. Cottoner will officiate. Burial will be in Westside Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
