Connie Jo Murphy, 68, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at McLeansboro Rehab and Healthcare. She was born on September, 22. 1953, the daughter of Glen Harold and Mary Wanda (Downs) Cathey. She married Michael E. Murphy on July 26, 1991 and he survives. Connie retired from the Banterra Insurance Agency. She enjoyed camping and boating. Connie liked to crochet afghans and was also a wonderful cook.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, Mike, Connie is survived by her children, Suzanne (Adam) McCutchan of Evansville, IN. and Stuart (Amy) Gregory of Townville, SC.; grandchildren, Seth Gregory, and Jaron and Courtney McCutchan; siblings, Ruth Kingston of Norris City, IL, Samantha Hilger of Crossville, and Pat Walker of Henderson, Ky. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Ted Cathey.
Funeral services for Connie Murphy will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery in New Haven, Illinois. Family and friends may visit on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
