Maxine Burnett, 78, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born on October 12, 1943, in Knoxville, TN to her parents, Kenneth Kyle Rule and Malinda Michaels Rule. Maxine was a devoted member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. She had a passion for music and had sung in the choir for many years. Maxine loved spending time with her grandchildren and making lasting memories with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fielden Eugene Burnett; her parents, Kenneth Kyle Rule and Malinda Michaels Rule; and her niece, Kendall B. Cherry.

Maxine is survived by her son, Eric Burnett (Shanea); daughters, Delana Swafford (Scott), and Kelley Hunt (Russell); grandchildren, Michelle Burnett, Emma Kidd, Keaton Kidd, Kelsie Ashe (Jake), Larissa Hunt, Casey Hunt, and Billy France (Sarah); 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Louise Apuzzo (John), Peggy Whaley (Gary), Kenny Rule (Kathy), Eddie Rule (Delores), Phyllis Fox (Tom); brother-in-law, Larry Burnett (Cindy); sisters-in-law, Imogene Burnett and Emma Kate Holden; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church Children's Music Ministry, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 or Cross Food Ministry, 406 Boyds Creek Hwy, Seymour, TN 37865

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, November 5th at Atchley Funeral Home, 122 Peacock Ct., Seymour, TN 37865. The Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday in Stock Creek Cemetery, Knoxville. Arrangements are in the care of Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour.
