Arthur E. "Art" Hall, Sr., 93, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg. Son of the late Peter and Esther (Gustafson) Halayko, he was born on December 26, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN. Art was born and raised in Minneapolis, but he wouldn't stay put for long. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 30 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. This experience began at Camp Douglas, WI, but would take Art to San Antonio, TX, where he met his wife of 63 years, Ida. His service took them across the globe, perhaps paving the way for their love of traveling. Art spent most of his years in Central Pennsylvania, where he was Sales Manager at Freysinger Pontiac, New Cumberland. He was a longtime member at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, and was a member of both the New Cumberland Legion (Post 143) and VFW (Post 7415). He was a man of faith, and he was active in the community. Art was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Zembo Shriner, a National Sojourner, and a member of the New Cumberland Lions Club. He enjoyed hunting in his younger days, loved golfing with family and friends, and enjoyed a good vodka martini (or vitamin "V", as he liked to call it). He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida (Hainey) Hall; a son, Arthur Hall, Jr.; and a grandson, Jason Haley. Surviving Art are his children and their spouses, William and Elizabeth Hall of Kirlkland, WA, David and Julie Hall of New Cumberland, and Douglas and Kathy Hall of New Cumberland; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a large extended family. A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A visitation will take place the hour prior to services in the funeral home. Art's final resting place will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Art's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
