He had lived most of his life in the Attica-West Point area, and attended West Point schools. He was a self-employed excavating contractor and mechanic. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was a member of the Indiana Sheriffs Association.
Surviving, besides the wife, are: his mother, West Point; three daughters, Debra J. (Jim) Irwin, Attica; Kelly J. (Ron) Fargo, LaPorte; Lori L. (Tom) Lehn, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Joshua Irwin, Attica; Abby Lehn, Indianapolis; two sisters, Evelyn Eaglehoff, West Point; Carol White, Lafayette; five brothers, Robert, Clifford, Calude (Bud) and James Martin, all of West Point; and Russell (Donnie) Martin, Monticello. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Richard Girton officiating. Burial was in West Point Cemetery." – Fountain County Neighbor, May 12, 1995
