Maria was born in Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico on June 3, 1928. She was the middle child of 19 siblings to her parents, Tomas Fausto and Arcadia Uribe. At 23 years old, Maria met and married Jose Vazquez. They had ten children together. Jose preceded her in death when Maria was 42 years old.
Maria is survived by her five sons and five daughters: Humberto Vazquez, Maria de Jesus Campos, Martha Farebrother, Francisco Vazquez, Sergio Vazquez, Isabel Allen, Jose Vazquez, Juan Vazquez, Teresa Rangel and Lupe Rey. She had a total of 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
