Joe Estel Grubbs was born to Reecie and Osie Grubbs on May 25, 1926 in Tribbey OK. He went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2007 after a short illness. Joe joined the US Navy in 1943 and faithfully served his country for 20 years; he was honorably discharged in July of 1964. Joe was married as a young man and had three children. He later married Anita G. Gaston in May 1972. Joe liked the outdoors; he loved to fish and camp and had a real eye for beauty. He would see a beautiful tree or bridge and go home and paint it. He loved to play his guitar and sing gospel hymns, and was always leading a Gospel Singing with his Sunday School Group. He was an avid student of the Bible and wrote a monthly devotion for a Christian Newsletter that reached throughout Oklahoma. He also led bible study groups with his friends and family until just before his death. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, father, three siblings and his wife of 34 years, Anita. He is survived by his three children, Deborah Fink of Jacksonville FL, John D. Grubbs of OKC, and Patricia Fly of Stark, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Hunter of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, his sister-in-law Fern Grubbs of Midwest City and step children Dan Gaston of Newalla, OK and Dannah Raissiannejad of OKC. He has a host of Nieces and Nephews, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren who will all miss him terribly. Joe will be honored with a Military Funeral at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma; family friend Ralph Henson will preside.
