He was united in marriage to Manerva Jennie Clemons of Yale on April 2, 1871. She departed this life on September 2, 1887. To this union were born seven children, two boys and five girls. William B. and Mary R. died in infancy and Bertha A., wife of J. F. Babbs, died on June 8, 1909. Those surviving are Minnie (E.W.) Vanatta (b: Oct 1871), A.W. McComas, Lizzie (Frank) Kibler, and Myrtle (Heber) Caudill.
Brother McComas was married to Miss Rebecca Junior of Wheeler on May 9, 1889 and she survives him. Sister McComas has been a faithful helpmate through 23 years of their married life and a mother to his chidlren from his former marriage. Their's have been happy, useful, Christian lives.
He was converted iin early manhood and united with the M.E. Church at Plainfield. He was a faithful Christian worker, always interested and doing his part in the progress of the church.
Brother McComas is the last of a family of five children. Besides his wife and children, there survive him eleven grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral was at the Rose Hill Church, of which he was a member, by Rev. Ryan, pastor, in interment was at the Andrews Cemetery by the side of his first wife.
