Herbert L. Sawyer
Hartland, Feb. 11 – Herbert L. Sawyer, 51, died Thursday morning at a Hartland hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Linneus, July 29, 1902, son of Edwin and Mary (Wilson) Sawyer.
Mr. Sawyer live in Hartland 28 years and formerly resided in Pittsfield. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge, A.F. and A.M. For many years he was employed by H.C. Baxter and Brother and for the last several years by the Hartland Tannery Company.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife, Ola Sawyer; one son, Hartley D. Sawyer, Houlton; one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine D'Amico of Morristown, N.J.; a brother, Clyde Sawyer, Linneus; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Bruce, Houlton; Mrs. Rita Tejedor, Benton; and Mrs. Gladys McKenney of Dexter; his father, Edwin Sawyer of Dexter, formerly of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at his home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Manuel Snow officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland in the spring. Friends may call at the home.
