Paul Lewis Miles, 89, of Elkhart, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2021.
He was born on February 16, 1932, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to John and Anna (Deak) Miles. Paul was a 1950 graduate of Jimtown High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving active duty 1953-1955.
On February 10, 1952, he married Marilyn A. (Cook) Miles, the love of his life. Paul worked for what is now known as American Electric Power where he retired after 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, a special niece, Pamela Dennis, along with 3 other nieces, 4 nephews, and many other beloved friends and relatives, many of whom call him "Dad" or "Grandpa".
Preceding him in death are his parents; infant son, Michael Lynn; infant daughter, Paulette Louise; and brother John Miles.
Paul dedicated his life to serving the Lord. Paul's purpose in life was to live for the Lord and to be with Him through all of eternity. He and Marilyn lived most of their married life in a home they designed and built in the middle of 3 acres surrounded by God's beautiful world that they loved. Paul was a strong patriarch of his extended family, a good friend to all, and a man who imparted wisdom, changing many lives.
He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church and later, Calvary Assembly of God, for most of his adult life. He was especially committed to and attended a home bible study group where he continued his passion of always learning something new. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 308, Moose Lodge 599, and the Michiana Master Gardner's Association.
Paul enjoyed traveling with friends and family, fishing, woodworking, and watching Notre Dame football games.
