He was the son of Mark Matthew and Patricia Ann (Coffelt) Juneau. Bill spent four years as a deputy with the Chisago County Minnesota Sheriff's Department, where he helped put together and train the SWAT team. From 1997-2002, he was an investigator with the Pine County Minesota Sheriff's Department, and from 1995-1997, he served as an officer with the St. James Minnesota Police Department. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also was a talented builder and had purchased land in Montana where he hoped to build a home and retire someday. In April of 2006, Bill decided he wanted to be a part of the rebuilding of Iraq. He applied for a job with DynCorp, a private security contractor, and was accepted. The hardest part of this for him was leaving his beloved black lab dog, Jake. His sister took in Jake, and he found someone to watch his house and his Harley Fat Boy, making the move a bit easier. He spent several weeks getting himself into tip-top shape, frequently running laps in full SWAT Team gear. He was trained by DynCorp in Virginia and Texas and in June of 2006, arrived in Iraq to work as an international police adviser. He was killed in Iraq when the military convoy in which he was traveling was struck by an improvised explosive device approximately 50 miles southeast of Baghdad. Bill is survived by his father, Mark; sisters, Stephanie (Randy) Torgerson and his twin sister Bridget (Tim) Sura; his loving million dollar dog, "Jake"; nephews, Alex Torgerson and Tony Sura; nieces, Brittanie Sura and Sammie Torgerson; life-long friends, Ted and Dan Bock; step daughter, Ashley; and many other relatives and friends.
