Clifton Ray Dickerson went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 18, 2021, in Barstow, CA.
He was born Nov. 14, 1939 in Seminole, OK, to James & Telia Dickerson. Cliff graduated from Seminole High School in 1957, then served his country in the US Navy from 1957-1960 and the Reserves through 1963. He then moved out to California where other relatives had settled. During his adult life time in Barstow, he worked at McMahan's Furniture Store, the Marine Corps Supply Base, Barstow Unified School District, and then Ft. Irwin National Training Center until retirement.
He was married in 1962 to Dorothy Haverlock. They had two beautiful daughters, Lori Ann & April Dawn. Cliff was active for many years in the Barstow First Assembly of God bus ministry during the 70's. He loved kids and was loved by all who met him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lori Montiel, brothers Harold Dickerson, Carl Dickerson, Bill Dickerson and Richard Dickerson.
Clifton is survived by one brother, James L. Williams & wife Sandy of Tahlequah, OK; daughter April Sappelsa of Redding, CA; grandchildren Jessica Conde & husband Eddie of Ridgecrest, CA; grandchildren Kody Montiel, Rochelle Baca, Isabella Baca, Lilyanna Dickerson-Rodriquez, Noah Sappelsa, Asher Sappelsa and Levi Sappelsa; and great-grandchildren, Skye, Aiden, Landon and Gunnar; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Clifton will be remembered at a Graveside Service in Barstow at Mt. View Cemetery, Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. Rev. Karen Bivens will officiate. There will be a family gathering afterwards. Funeral arrangements have been made by Mead Mortuary.
