John Eban Carte' Burton began his earthly journey on January 6, 1977.God delivered this gift with the breath of life to the proud parents, Johnny and Bette; and big sister, Amethyst. After moving to Evanston from Chicago in 2nd grade, leaving his friends and school, his journey of a new school and acquiring new friendships, was quite an adjustment. But not long thereafter, he found friends that are to this day, his life-long buddies. His college days also added even more friends for life. John's early education began at Horace Greeley Elementary in Chicago, Illinois. At Dawes Elementary, Chute Middle, and Evanston Township High School, in Evanston, Illinois, he began his academia years that later brought his journey to Tennessee State University, in Nashville.

After receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Tennessee State University in 2000, it later led to his professional career at Verizon Wireless in 2002, where he held the position of Senior Representative until his untimely passing. John often spoke fondly of his colleagues as family, as he collected life-long friends there.

John had a strong spiritual foundation and was known for his love of God, family and friends. John spread the Good News of God, Yahweh, and encouraged many to reach for a deeper understanding of the Creator. His love for God spoke loudly through his kind, gentle spirit, a gentle giant. He always wanted to share his awakening with all who he encountered. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends.

His magnetic personality made him a vibrant individual who radiated LIGHT and LOVE ... He enjoyed music of all genres, but especially Motown. He would always find a way to have a conversation about food, music, life in general and of course, FATHER YAH. In recent years, he acquired an interest in gardening and cultivated his own vegetable garden, which demonstrated his love for learning.

John departed this phase of his journey on August 17,2021. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Johnny Burton and Bette Ware Burton; sister, Amethyst Burton; god-sister, Katherine Gray; aunts, uncles, a bunch of devoted cousins; beloved god-children; and of course cherished bonus sisters and friends.

Please keep the family of Mr. John Burton in your thoughts and prayers.
