AIKEN, SC - The Reverend Christopher Davies died peacefully on April 10, 2015 in Aiken, SC.

A memorial service took place at St. Mary Help of Christians Church at Park Avenue and York Street on Saturday April 25, 2015 at 4 PM. Archbishop Mark Haverland, Metropolitan of the Anglican Catholic Church, presided. Inurnment will be private at a later date.

He was born in Claycross, Derbyshire, England of Welsh parents, the only child of The Reverend Reginald Vincent Davies and Thelma Davies. He was immensely proud of his Welsh heritage.

He was educated in Canterbury, England and Cornell's School of Hotel Administration. He enjoyed a successful career in hotel management for more than 40 years in the Caribbean, Toronto, Canada and Florida. In 1999 he moved to Aiken where he was the Managing Director of Cumberland Village until his retirement.

He was ordained a Deacon of the Anglican Church on August 6, 2001 by Bishop Edward E. La Cour where he served at All Saints Anglican Church in Aiken for many years. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club of Aiken and The Aiken Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia and by his cousins in the UK, Gaynor Davies, Laura Hall, Matthew Hall, Peter Tilley and Owen Tilley. He will be deeply missed.

A gentleman through and through, he will be remembered as a man of deep faith, for his love of his and Cecelia's beloved dogs and their shared passion for travel.
