Anna M. "Ann" Howard, 81, of Little Valley, NY died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born May 28, 1940 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruby Crist Sutton. On May 23, 1981, she married her best friend, James W. Howard, who survives.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School.

Ann had been employed with Cattaraugus County and The Linwood Center as well as the nursing home in Olean as the activity director for over 25 years before her retirement.

She was an avid reader who loved collecting books. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and football games on the weekend. She also enjoyed her years as a Navy spouse in Virginia Beach, VA.

Surviving besides her husband are: a daughter, Lori (Larry) Gustin, Little Valley, NY; two sons, Mark (Mary Ellen) Williams, Middletown, MD, Michael (Carrie) Timme, Myersville, MD; stepchildren, James and Tina Howard; seven grandchildren, Logan Gustin, Megan Williams, Benjamin Williams, Sierra, Sydney, Carly, and Easton Timme; a great-granddaughter, Brielle Gustin; a brother, Albert (Linda) Sutton, King, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and John Mann.
