Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, of the Egypt community, for David H. Brooks, age 79, of Altoona, who passed away August 25, 2021. Reverend Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery. Village Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Brooks served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred O'Dell Yates Brooks; brother, Robert Louis Brooks; sisters, Faye (Joe) Snead, and Donna (Winford) Edmondson; half-sisters, Irine (Jim) Copeland, Beatrice (Jim) Sprayberry and Frances (Bud) Cole.
He is survived by his wife, Wanigorn Nutthet; sons, Steve (Suporn) Body, John Brooks; step-daughter, Supaphun (Sam) Sutchaleo; sisters, Treacy Blair, and Judy (Barry) Gilbreath.
