Meridian, Idaho - Joan Rose Peterson, 81, died at Edgewood Spring Creek, after a long battle with dementia. Joan was born to Angelo & Rose in Pennsylvania. Survived by her husband, Glen Peterson, three children, Michelle Smith, Maureen Baker and Michael Boyce; two stepchildren, Brandon Meiers and Joyia Patrick, six grandchildren, Mitchell, Travis, Tori, Ryan, Aaron and Colin, three great grandchildren and her brother, John.
Joan was a cheerleader and avid bowler as a teenager. She was particularly proud of having been on an episode of American Bandstand. After high school, Joan moved to Sacramento, CA. There she married and had three children. Joan and her children moved to Idaho Falls where she would meet and marry Glen Peterson. They moved to Boise to raise their family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, golfing, reading, making jewelry and motorcycle riding. She was a long-standing member of the Lion's Club of Boise where she enjoyed reading to elementary school children and working with the site-impaired/guide dog program.
Joan died surrounded by her loving family. The family had a private memorial service, no public service will be held.
