Julie Gearl Bennett, age 83, of Bronson, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at CHI St. Luke's Hospital in San Augustine, Texas.

Julie was born in Bronson, Texas on November 10, 1937 to James Elton Craig and Lorine McBride Craig.

She was a lifetime resident of Bronson and a member of First Baptist Church in Bronson as well as a member of the Eastern Star. She worked for many years as a home health care provider and retired from Outreach Health. She was known to have a very strong work ethic.

Julie loved her family and she loved to cook in mass quantities she could fix anything. She also loved being outside.

She is survived by her sons Jim Bennett and wife, Cindy and Joe Bennett and wife, Connie, all of Bronson, Misti Duffey and husband, Jimmy, also of Bronson, grandchildren Josh Bennett and wife, Brianne, Courtney Brittain and husband, Douglas, William Greene Teague, Rebecca Bennett, Craig Bradey Duffey, Ashton Brooke Duffey, Lucus Duffey and wife, K'Lee, and Noah Andrew Duffey; and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6~8pmFriday, August 27, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Graveside services will begin at 2pm, Saturday, August 28, 2021 in McBride Cemetery with Brother Wilton Blackmon officiating.
