Cecilia Teresa "Ceci" Escobar Duplan, age 25, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Born in Toluca, Mexico on October 1, 1995, she was a daughter of Sergio Escobar and Mirian Duplan. Ceci received an Associate degree in Criminal Justice at Delaware Technical Community College. She worked as a security officer for West Chester University for the past four years, where she was continuing her education in criminal justice.

In addition to her education in criminal justice, she received firefighting and basic medical training and was actively riding as an apprentice on the ambulance. Ceci was very involved in her community, and was a member of the Network Delaware, Safe Communities Coalition, and the Wilmington Manor Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Sergio Escobar, Jr., Mirian Escobar, William Escobar, and Charly Escobar; long term partner, Amilear Danilo Gil; paternal grandfather, Arturo Escobar; maternal grandmother, Rafaela Sotelo; and canine companions, Sol, Luna, Lucy, and Cielo.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, New Castle, DE 19720. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the church. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the Governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ceci's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or to Holy Spirit R.C. Church, at the address listed above.
