On February 6, 1949, a queen was born in Kirbyville, TX to Felton and Johanna Miles. That Queen was Carrie Bell Miles. Carrie was the second eldest of nine children. She was baptized at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend BM Kennebrew.

As a young child Carrie believed she was unique and destined for greatness, and she was. She had a naturally competitive spirit and strived to be the best at everything she did, working tirelessly to achieve her goals. Carrie was the culmination of beauty and brains. Carrie was the Valedictorian of her junior high and of The West Kirbyville High School Graduating Class of 1967. She was the drum major of the band, and a basketball star still holding the record in Kirbyville for the most points in a single game, 67 points for all that don't know.

Carrie attended college at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX where she obtained her BS in Nursing and began a career in the medical field. Nursing provided her with the skills to build her business and fulfil a life's dream. In 1994, she partnered with her brother Richard and his wife and her best friend, Alice. Together they opened Affiliated Professionals Home Health Care Agency, aka APRO. This company was Carrie's pride and joy. Her goal was to provide impeccable care to patients and to provide employment and opportunities for her family and community. At its peak, APRO was the 9th largest home health company in the United States.

Carrie married her high school sweetheart John L Brown. To this union two beautiful daughters were born, Joanne "Peaches" Adams and Ayanna Brown, MD. She later met and married the love of her life, James W. Hamilton. They had a son James William Hamilton (Jimmy).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Johanna Miles; brother, Alfred Miles; and husband, James W. Hamilton.

Carries leaves to mourn her death: her children, Joanne Adams, Dr. Ayanna Brown, and James Hamilton; Grandchildren, Maya Adams, Joshua Adams, Jacob Adams, Joseph Adams, Anasia Fusilier, Anaya Belle Brown; Siblings, Glenda Norman, Patricia Miles, Richard Miles (Alice Miles), Diana Howard, Cynthia Smith (Anthony Smith), Beatrice Law, Harold Miles, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
